At the time of the Buddha, many sacrificial rims took place in India during which animals were sacrificed [1]. Innocent animals were killed on the altars to please the gods and for the happiness of the people in the present life and for the life in the afterlife. This tradition is based purely on selfishness. However, the Buddha showed the people that it was impossible to get happiness for yourself acquired by harming other creatures. He warned his followers not to practice such acts. in that time, King Pasenadi of Kosala, had sixteen terrifying dreams in just one night, where he was terrified of. To avert the evil influence of these dreams a great animal sacrifice was prepared, on the advice of the brahmins. Thousands of animals would have died if the Buddha had not intervened. When he heard of the sacrificial rims, the Buddha gave the king another advice in order to save the lives of those poor creatures to save. From that day to today, never, no matter how small, is a orphaned in a Buddhist ceremony.

How the higher the blood spattered, the more satisfaction the gods would find in it... It's heartbreaking.
