THE FIVE AGGREGATES OF CLINGING
THE FIVE AGGREGATES OF CLINGING ARE:
Rupupadanakkhandha - clinging to form (the body)
Vedanupadanakkhandha - clinging to feelings
Sannupadanakkhandha - clinging to perception
Sankharupadanakkhandha - clinging to mental formations
Vinnanupadanakkhandha - clinging to consciousness
Therefore the Buddha taught:
Rupam aniccam - the body is impermanent
Vedana anicca - feelings are impermanent
Sanna anicca - perception is impermanent
Sankhara anicca - mental formations are impermanent
Vinnanam aniccam - consciousness is impermanent
Rupam anatta - the body is not-self, does not belong to me, is empty;
Vedana anatta - feelings are not-self, do not belong to me, are empty;
Sanna anatta - perception is not-self, does not belong to me, is empty;
Sankhara anatta - mental formations are not-self, do not belong to me, are empty;
Vinnanam anatta - consciousness is not-self, does not belong to me, is empty;
All conditioned things are impermanent -
all dhammas (phenomena) are not-self!
